Special value in this context are international comparisons allowing assessment of the distance of Poland in terms of individual health indicators and disease risk factors, which illustrates distance to the EU average and the most developed countries of the community. This allows to formulate realistic measurable goals in planned strategies aimed at improving the health of the Polish population.
