"Writing for Advenced Learners of English" is a collection of stimulating writing activities for advenced learners of English language and literature. The emphasis is on the development of free written expression through a series of graded steps. This graded approach is reflected in the four sections of the book: manipulation (students focus on aspects of accuracy, such as punctuation and editing), imitation (students work inventively within a range of genres), variations on a theme (students are encouraged to explore parallel ways of expressiing the same idea, such as writing about an event from a variety of stances), invention (students attempt more open-ended creative tasks).
