The re-interpretation of Aquinas' thought consists of a new and concise presentation of St. Thomas' philosophy, especially of his metaphysics and anthropology. As opposed to a purely logical or essentialistic interpretation of Aquinas' conception of being, this book approaches the importance of «esse» in the sense of existence as the central point of metaphysics, in accordance with Gilson's interpretation. In anthropology, the re-evaluation of nature and natural values in man seem to be a characteristic point of Thomas' conception of man. Difficult problems are developed in that work in a contemplative type of philosophical reflection.
