Termography : a practical approach / Reidar Gustavsson. - [Borl?e] : Norbo kraftteknik AB, cop. 2009. - VI, 156 s. : il. ; 24 cm.
The IR camera provides unlimited possibilities to examine load and fault states at a distance for an almost infinite range of applications. As variations and faults in a process results in changes in heat patterns, the IR camera can be used to search for and detect emerging faults before a failure occurs. New applications and uses are constantly emerging. As the camera development has been explosive for the past ten years with regards to performance, size, cost and software, the technology is now mature enough and economically justifiable for use in fields previously unimaginable. However, a certain amount of proficiency is required of the camera operator. One can't point the camera at the object and believe that everything becomes visible and understandable on the camera display. In order to perform a thermographic inspection correctly, a solid understanding of the matter is required of the operator. The book is composed of six chapters: 1. Introduction: A short introduction to the subject. 2. Thermodynamics: An overview of basic thermodynamics. 3. The IR-Camera: A basic description of the IR-camera's functions. 4. Measurement Methodologies: Introduces a more structured way to work. 5. Applications: Examples of practical measurements in industrial environments. 6. Reports: A closer look on how to write reports with the QuickReport software.

The internal-combustion engine in theory and practice. Vol. 1, Thermodynamics, fluid flow, performance / Charles Fayette Taylor. - Second edition, revised. - Cambridge, Massachusetts ; London : M.I.T. This revised edition of Taylor's classic work on the internal-combustion engine incorporates changes and additions in engine design and control that have been brought on by the world petroleum crisis, the subsequent emphasis on fuel economy, and the legal restraints on air pollution. The fundamentals and the topical organization, however, remain the same. The analytic rather than merely descriptive treatment of actual engine cycles, the exhaustive studies of air capacity, heat flow, friction, and the effects of cylinder size, and the emphasis on application have been preserved. These are the basic qualities that have made Taylor's work indispensable to more than one generation of engineers and designers of internal-combustion engines, as well as to teachers and graduate students in the fields of power, internal-combustion engineering, and general machine design.

Tipler’s textbook sets the standard in introductory physics courses for clarity, accuracy, and precision. This title offers a completely integrated text and media solution, enabling professors to customise their classrooms so that they can teach efficiently and get the most out of their students. This text includes a new strategic problem solving approach and an integrated Maths Tutorial with new tools to improve conceptual understanding. Through partnering with digital help Sapling Learning, this online homework platform provides extra learning and assessment help for both you and your students. With automatic grading, an easy to use platform, instructors have the option to track and grade each step of the process, allowing them to see where the class as a whole is improving, or where indeed individual students need extra help. No two students are alike, so the tools are there to help make each physics experience unique to the user.
