"Death Trance" is an intoxicating tale of Eastern Mysticism. One of Mastertons more sensitive novels examining one mans struggle to come to terms with his loss. The main characters grief is so intense it really moves the reader. This is the only Masterton novel that actually allows the main character to grieve instead of bedding the nearest woman.(He turns her down). The first chapter is horrifying and intense and whereas I usually enjoy the gore this chapter was disturbingly uncomfortable.
